Meet the Interior Designer
Michelle Ocampo Design is a family-owned and operated interior design company in Carmel Valley, California. Michelle has been decorating rooms all her life, but professionally for over 20 years. In 2002, she began her interior design business working with clients in Carmel Valley, Carmel by-the Sea, Pebble Beach, Big Sur and places beyond.
Born to a renowned cabinet maker, Tom Ocampo, she learned young about designing and building furniture and cabinets. Ocampo explains: "I enjoyed drafting along side my father as a teen. I knew this would be my path. In my younger years, my personal style had revolved around my active growing kids. As they got older my style became more refined. What hasn't changed is that my style is functional and purposeful. I read the architecture of a home. Aim to compliment it with colors and furnishings of the clients desire. I listen to the client to see how I can bridge architecture with personal styles and preferences. I love art, and use it in design. Other companies may offer similar services, but our services are the best, and come with a personal touch.”
Michelle spends her leisure time hiking, and being outdoors every chance she gets. She says "It's important to bring the outdoors in, I believe that exciting design is the use of naturally occurring colors bouncing around a room forcing you to encompass its entirety. A comfortable living space is most welcoming to guests and family."
Michelle holds an Interior Design Degree from Monterey Peninsula College. She also has a window covering contractors license number 973207 in the State of California and is a member of ASID.
